Valhalla isn’t going to blow you away.  The décor is barren, but pleasant; featuring booths and tall round tables with fake candles hanging overhead.  The bar is long and the 36 taps behind it jump out against their gold backing.  The draft selection rotates and I always find a few that I like.  Failing that, they have many great bottles to fill the gaps.  So what’s special, then, Beerlord?  In the end I think the reason it made the cut is its sheer consistency.  In the selection process, I went to Valhalla 5 different times.  Every time I went the beer was good, the bartender pleasant and the spot was never too crowded.  All-in-all, the best spot for a beer on restaurant row.
