The importance of Eastern Europe to world beer culture is often overlooked.  A mistake, given that the Czech Republic originated Pilsner and was maybe the first country to utilize hops.  East Village’s Klimat shouldn’t be overlooked either.  Pushing indoor beer garden status with its open area and significant amount of seating, Klimat is a great spot for a group of 10-12 to start off the evening.  The gem is the enormous square table around which at least 12 people can enjoy the yummy, traditional food and a wide array of Czech and Polish beers that the Beerlord has not seen in other NYC bars.
