The new d.b.a. is almost a carbon-copy of the first d.b.a. Of course, anyone that’s been to the original d.b.a. knows that is not a bad thing. Despite the overwhelming similarities, there are a few minor differences that The Beerlord needs to point out. (1) The patio is smaller, but stays open longer; (2) Small food plates will soon be made available; (3) There isn’t that creepy web-cam; and (4) It’s in Williamsburg, not Manhattan. Williamsburg, arguably the beer capital of New York, is packed full of great bars – many of which made the site primarily on atmosphere and uniqueness. Bowling alleys, video games, beer gardens, whack-a-hipster machines, etc. Perhaps that’s why d.b.a., a straight-forward bar with excellent beer, whiskey and bourbons at reasonable prices, might be exactly what Williamsburg needs. So if you’re just looking to relax at a great beer bar in Williamsburg without an added gimmick, d.b.a. is your spot.
