Some might argue that Burp Castle is just one big gimmick.  The walls are painted in a large mural depicting monks brewing and drinking beer.  Small signs on the wall demand silence “by order of the Trappist Monks”.  The bartender shushes the patrons when the room grows too loud.  Well, maybe it is all a big gimmick, but dammit it’s a good one.  After all, any bar that pays homage to the Trappist Monks is a-okay in The Beerlord’s book.  When the rules are followed, the pleasant hush generated by the whispers of a late night crowd is a welcome contrast to the standard roar.  Throw in a major bottle list and rotating eclectic taps and you’ve got a great night of drinking ahead of you.  So grab an Orval, zip your lips and enjoy the gimmick.  The Beerlord always does.
